On Friday, September 8, the 2023 AAHOA Gulf Regional Conference and Trade Show concluded with resounding success. The event, held in New Orleans' central business district, brought together more than 300 hoteliers from the Gulf Region. Distinguished guests included Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, Senator Bill Cassidy, and Solicitor General Liz Murrill, who all took the time to address attendees and voice their support for AAHOA. 

The regional event featured a panel discussion with notable industry experts such as John Houghtaling, AAHOA Board Member and Managing Partner of Gauthier, Murphy & Houghtaling LLP; Walt Leger III, President & CEO of the New Orleans & Company; and Jay Sharplin, President of Sharpco Hotels Group. The panel covered the latest industry trends, challenges hoteliers face in insurance, and the daily struggles of hotel operations.

By the end of the event, members had contributed more than $45,000 in PAC funds. Moreover, the Gulf Region facilitated connections among young professionals, hosting the Young Professional Hoteliers Reception to inspire the next generation in the industry.

The success of the event can be attributed to the exceptional efforts of Gulf Regional Director Vimal Patel and his dedicated Ambassador team, who ensured its seamless execution.
